A. Brooke Christian is Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing and Chief Sales Officer at TransPerfect, the world’s largest privately held company offering global language and technology solutions. With over 15 years’ experience in the localization industry, Christian has overseen TransPerfect’s growth from $4 million to over $500 million in annual revenues and from 4 company offices to 90 global cities spanning 6 continents.
During his tenure at TransPerfect, Christian has established strategic relationships with leading organizations across diverse industries, including Disney, Merck, Pfizer, and Omnicom. Under his leadership, TransPerfect’s global sales and client service team has mastered the essential operation of each industry in which they specialize, an effective requirement established by Christian. The company has – and continues to grow – a strong portfolio of clients in industries including legal, finance, life sciences, retail, and consumer goods. Christian also oversees marketing and communications staff for TransPerfect’s activities worldwide. He has created and implemented client events with as many as 2,000 attendees as well as multiple internal sales and client service training conferences.
Christian has been appointed to positions on the boards of The U.S. Travel Association and the Rudin Center for Transportation Policy at the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. Christian holds an MS in Sports and Business Management and a BS in Business Administration, both from the University of Florida. He lives in Washington, DC.
Mark Peeler directs all functions related to quality assurance and compliance, a role that includes creating, establishing, and implementing processes to facilitate continual improvement as well as ensuring global standardization of all procedures, policies, and best practices. He also manages special project teams that focus on initiatives designed to improve the company's efficiency, technology utilization, and global alignment of critical areas such as training and development. Peeler played a pivotal role in the implementation of the ISO 9001 and EN 15038 certified quality management systems for TransPerfect. Formerly Vice President of Global Production, Peeler draws upon his extensive experience managing the company's production operations worldwide for more than a decade. Peeler holds a BA from Duke University where he triple majored in English, History, and Political Science.
Jin Lee is Senior Vice President for Global Production at TransPerfect. Lee manages the translation, interpretation, and desktop publishing divisions of the company worldwide. He has unparalleled experience in handling large-scale technical projects in multiple languages. Based in the company's headquarters in New York, Lee oversees the selection, training, productivity, and evaluation of over 350 employees worldwide. With linguistic skills in Korean and French, Lee began his career as a Project Manager at TransPerfect in 2003. Distinguished for his "hands on" approach and ability to select large, geographically dispersed teams to work together on projects that must meet stringent compliance and quality standards, he was promoted to Senior Manager in the legal division shortly thereafter. In 2007, Lee was selected to head our rapidly growing life sciences division and played a key role in growing our largest global accounts. Lee holds a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.
Kevin Obarski, Senior Vice President of North America, joined TransPerfect's Atlanta office in 2001 as a Director of Business Development. Within months, Obarski was generating record-breaking revenues. His impressive sales performance was matched by an outstanding ability to motivate and lead other members of the TransPerfect sales team. Today, he oversees a full staff of regional directors, directors of business development, and account managers in TransPerfect's key US offices. Prior to joining TransPerfect, Obarski was Corporate Sales Manager for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA. He holds a BA from the University of Florida with a double major in Finance and Management.
Jessica Eker is Senior Vice President, and has been with TransPerfect since 2003. Primarily focused on the Life Sciences arena, and overseeing a global team of approximately 75 salespeople both in the life science space and out, Eker has helped the company establish worldwide partnerships with an array of pharmaceutical leaders including Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Novartis, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Daiichi Sankyo, and Merck, and has been responsible for the development of the TransPerfect's Linguistic Validation practice. Eker's articles on translation for clinical trials can be read in both Future Pharmaceuticals and EPC (European Pharmaceutical Contractor) Magazine, and she was a featured speaker for the 2008 Drug Information Association's (DIA) Annual Conference. Eker was named “National VP of Sales of the Year” at the 2010 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University in 2001 with a BSLA in Spanish, and a double minor in Business and Italian.
Michael Sank joined TransPerfect as a salesperson in 1997 when he opened the Los Angeles office. He subsequently led the company's global expansion as Vice President of International Operations, during which time he lived in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong, managing all sales and production in Europe and Asia. In his current role, Sank manages partnerships and other strategic ventures as well as M&A activity - including the company's mergers with Crimson, ArchiText, iSP, Overtaal, Quagnito, Iverson, WorldLingo, and Yamane. Working with incoming management, he has contributed to the integration, employee retention, growth, and overall success of these merger partners within the TransPerfect framework. In 2009 he served as Chairman of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). He holds a BA, with Distinction in English, from San Diego State University.
Chief Operating Officer, Roy B. Trujillo, has been with TransPerfect since 1999, bringing with him significant experience in areas related to the needs of the rapidly growing family of companies. Prior to his employment with TransPerfect, Trujillo served as President and CEO of Leona's Foods, Inc. During his time there, his efforts were largely responsible for transforming a small regional company into a national supplier of high-quality natural food products. The products developed and manufactured by LFI were sold under company owned brands as well as most of the nation's largest retailer's private label programs. Prior to his time at Leona's Foods, he held various technical and management positions at IBM, SBC Communications, and Chase Investment Services. Trujillo earned an MBA in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies at New York University's Stern School of Business, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico State University.
President of TransPerfect Medical Device Solutions
Marc H. Miller is President of TransPerfect Medical Device Solutions and Vice President of Quality Systems for TransPerfect. TransPerfect Medical Device Solutions is the only translation organization in the world to be ISO 14971-certified and hold certifications to both ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Miller previously worked as a Senior Research Associate for the strategy consulting firm, S.I.A.R, where he authored assessments for US and European medical technology companies. Miller earned his MBA degree in Marketing from the Scottish Business School at Stirling University, Scotland, and his BA degree in Celtic Languages and Literature from Harvard University.
Prior to joining TransPerfect in 2003, Mark Hagerty was the Director of Software Development at eTranslate, directing the development of the industry leading GMS technology that was eventually acquired by Translations.com. Prior to that Hagerty worked for eight years as a senior software engineer and manager at Adobe Systems, Inc. Hagerty was in charge of merging the internal customer databases and customer support systems when Adobe acquired Aldus in 1994. He was also one of the developers of the Adobe Type-On-Call product and was a key member of the teams that implemented PeopleSoft and SAP internally. Hagerty has 20 years of software development experience and is responsible for the technology vision and solutions that make TransPerfect and Translations.com an industry leader. Hagerty holds a BS in Mathematics and Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
A ten-year plus veteran of the localization/translation industry, Matt has overseen all facets of technology sales and marketing for TransPerfect and Translations.com since 2007. Matt’s Content Solutions Team works closely with the entire global sales force of the TransPerfect family of companies to ensure that the proper combination of GlobalLink® applications is being presented to both current and prospective clients. Matt also takes an active role in managing enterprise engagements that involve technology, is involved in both development and implementation of technology-related sales and marketing strategies, and coordinates partner and alliance activities related to GlobalLink. Matt began his career with TransPerfect in 1996, handling sales for enterprise document translation for the Southeast Region, and moved into website localization and technology sales in 1999 with Translations.com. Currently based in Atlanta, GA, Matt is a graduate of the University of Florida and holds a BA in English.
Yu-Kai Ng joined TransPerfect in 2005. Under his direction, TransPerfect has successfully increased operational efficiency in pace with its rapid global expansion, and has effectively aligned IT investments with strategic business objectives across the TransPerfect Family of Companies. Prior to joining TransPerfect, Yu-Kai started a technical consulting practice whose clients included IBM and Siebel Systems. He has also held technical leadership positions at Respond.com, Full Circle Software, Puma Technology, and Adobe Systems. Yu-Kai has a BA in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
