Automotive: Virtual Assistant Localization

The Problem

A leading automotive manufacturer needed localization and multiple variations per language of commands in English, French, Dutch, and Korean for their Smart Home technology. The main goal was to have the system understand what the user was requesting and subsequently provide an appropriate action or response to fulfill their request.

The Solution

DataForce’s computational linguists localized the commands and the context-free grammars, while native speakers generated variations of each command for increased coverage in each language—all so the system would be able to recognize all of the possible ways that users might request an action.

DataForce localized several files, including natural language understanding, natural language generation, and test cases from English to French, Dutch, and Korean. We built and trained a development and a quality assurance team in 15 business days and completed the localization in two weeks, hitting all KPIs on time.
