TransPerfect Translations Selects Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton To Receive Free Translation Services For Pro Bono Programs

Law Technology News - March 1, 2004

Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, an 800-lawyer international firm, has been selected by TransPerfect Translations, a translation service, to receive free translation services for its pro bono programs, which include immigration and asylum matters.

The amount of free assistance will depend on how much paid services the firm purchases, says the company. "The firm can earn up to 26,000 words per month (312,000 per year) which could save the firm as much as $140,000," says spokeswoman Alison Desena.

The offer has been extended to some of the company's existing clients, says the company, which is headquartered in New York.

"Aside from strengthening our relationship with these clients, we view this as a welcomed opportunity to share their values and support the causes that they deem worthy," says president and C.E.O. Liz Elting.
